With over 25 years of experience empowering people, especially Black women, she  brings a wealth of knowledge to her work as an empowerment consultant, cultural trauma expert, domestic abuse trainer, community radio presenter and entrepreneur.

As a proactive leader and excellent communicator driven to find solutions, April has tirelessly worked with women and vulnerable groups on issues relating to race and culture. As Director of the non-profit Creating Equalz, she has developed impactful programs like Lightening the Load, Talking Abuse & Cultural Trauma (TACT) and led webinars confronting damaging stereotypes of Black women.

April speaks powerfully about building confidence as a bald Black woman with alopecia areata. She’s been featured in Cosmopolitan, Made in Chelsea, Refinery29 and across BBC radio, using her media presence and skills as a radio presenter and poet to uplift people facing cultural trauma.
